MOIRA T. SMITH

untitled

Stand still,
look here, and
don’t change …
for a minute.
I wish to digest this face
of the divine.
Stand still,
look here, and
don’t change …
for a minute.
I wish to digest this face
of the divine.
One note is struck
and another quickly follows.
There is a rhythm
but I’ve not yet learned it.

Don’t come near
or stand apart,
but walk with me awhile.
---we will fall into step in due time.

Moira T. Smith often reads at the PPW Series in New York. She routinely takes risks with her work, and as often as not works the risks she takes into poetic success.
