REVOLUTION POEM

somewhere over the rainbow
way up high

some motherfucker is gonna drop
a nuclear bomb from the sky.

meanwhile
tonight i'll
t-t-t tap
typewritten
soul maps
like chicken bone crackin
chokin vegetarian
smokin
lip smackin
revealin rhymes.

i fear the bomb
and for the
crack baby
turned marlboro suckin
soon to be mom.

the sound of nukes
pucked
to free freezin youth
never had
adds grace to
growing
old.

i fear devil in december
and
sadness remembered
like
suicide shot
blood on the wall still dryin
best friend dyin
in my arms.

sometimes i want to strike out
and find
that island of misfit toys
that soft place
evenly spaced
heavenly graced safe house
i rip lip dip hip hop top tip turpentine
to
wipe
the
slate
clean.

straight as an arrow
that mutative cocktail glow
grows restless
i ripped off that yolk
i can't save the fucking world

though
i empty my pockets precious
to the hungry man
for he is me
and fear together we
procrastination
colors
cause color bleeds
under tank treads
documents and decrees
the lay of the land
sags to the hanging hand
of a slit wrist democracy
bleedin from the sockets
eyes like rockets
blinded by the American dream.

but this ain't no revolution poem.

cause

free freedom
brought me to this door.

are we in loooove...
hell yes.

so limp along my
broken heroes
cause you ain't alone.

love ain't no revolution poem
it's a dove
held in the hands
softly.

so i offer you this
copy
of my bootlegged
map
to heaven.
