JACK BOWMAN

CORPORATE SUITE

Know the rules before you make a move
the unwritten ones, more than the rest
no one can be uncomfortable
no one can be real,
open, direct, compassionate, ethical
or have feelings for someone else
no one can speak their mind
no smoking
no breathing too loud
no bleeding,
no laughter
no seething
no needing, too irreverent
no friends
no thinking, too evident
no stretching the limits
no kneeling, before another
no believing

in anything.

Jack G. Bowman was born in 1962 to a workin' class family in south-western Ohio. Between that time and 1978 he criss-crossed the country with his parents eventually landing in southern California. His work in the Mental Health field since 1984, along with his adventures and the "spirit of the times" reflect in his poetry and other art forms. He is the author of 2 books, a former cohost of "Thursday Night Poetry" in Pasadena and news editor for Poetix magazine.
