Moroccan Haikus
the desert after a rain—
bulky toads' mysterious apparition
like Satans buying souls.
my mud
house is like a grave
close to nature, organic,
twilight
tonight
12 year old water colorist
pure blue from the tray
once
ugly tray
now fine
retooled by time's
10,000 artisans' hands
Maggie Matthews grew up in the
50's and 60's when dinosaurs roamed the earth.
She is living in Tiznit,
Morocco now with a very small business selling Berber jewelry
over the web. Has written but not published lots of stuff, prose
and poetry, about Morocco over the years. She sold a few poems
20 years ago and recently gave up trying to finish a PhD in
French N-African Lit.
